How to work less and actually take time off as an entrepreneur (without burning out)
Last week, I had a fancy dinner with my partner, Anthony. We went to Little Grouse in downtown Saskatoon — he had the Rigatoni and I had Cacio e Pepe (obvi — I order this everywhere haha).
As we walked home in the warm evening air, I felt so good. There’s nothing better than spending time with my favourite person, eating some nourishing food (avec pinot grigio), and enjoying a slow walk home on a quiet evening.
In short, I felt so good. That kind of feeling tells me I’m on the right track in my life and biz — it’s important to be able to work less and take real time off to enjoy my life.
That feels amazing to me.
But you know what doesn’t feel amazing, friend?
Missing fun dinner dates because you’re glued to your phone and working 24/7 — or worse, skipping them altogether because your bank account says “absolutely not.”
I know you. You’ve sacrificed and struggled in so many ways:
→ You’ve skipped the fancy meals
→ You’ve worked until 10pm trying to get work finished
→ You’ve fielded complaints when a client isn’t happy with their invoice
→ You’ve had way too many coffee chats with potential clients that went nowhere
→ You’ve put off family vacays
→ You’re the one waking up at 2am going over and over how to part ways with a toxic team member
In short, you’ve done a lot and given up a lot too… You are tired and exhausted.
It feels like you are working 10 times harder than anyone around you to grow and scale your biz, but it’s just not creating the results you want.
You aren’t having enough of your own Cacio e Pepe evenings.
Instead, your day-to-day experience in your biz feels like you’re trying to repair a plane mid-flight.
It’s rocky, to say the least.
Here’s what I need you to know:
You are not going to be able to work less and take real time off to enjoy your life if you keep going this way.
You are the boss.
You are incredibly talented and skilled at making something from nothing.
You deserve to have time away from work to rest and connect with the people you love.
And if you don’t, I can guarantee that’s a recipe for burnout.
Energetically — you’re giving way too much and not getting enough in return.
You’re just completely ignoring the principle of reciprocity. As in, you’re overgiving — or not expecting enough of those around you — so everything is out of balance.
This leads to exhaustion and resentment towards team members and clients alike.
And unfortunately, running your business this way is never going to allow you to work less and take meaningful time off.
You need to start doing things differently.
That’s what I’m getting excited to talk to you about, friend. There is a better way.
Soon, I’ll start talking a bit more about my program, The Formula, that I know is going to open your eyes to a different way of doing things.
I created this program to help solve these exact issues for you so that you can actually build a business that allows you to work less and take time off — so you’ll have more of your own Cacio e Pepe evenings.
Talk soon!
