I know my profit margins… so why can’t I pay myself?
You probably don’t need to invest in another ‘Money Mindset’ course.
If you’re reading this, I’m going to assume you already know what your profit margins are (approximately, anyway). You probably know how much payroll is every two weeks. You can guess pretty accurately at what you’ll owe in personal and corporate tax this year.
And yet… you still can’t pay yourself.
If you’ve taken money mindset courses, worked with biz coaches, or consumed every piece of financial content out there—and nothing’s changed? Here’s the tough truth:
The problem isn’t the courses.
The problem is you.
I say this with love. Money problems are often just cleverly disguised behaviour problems.
Let me show you what I mean:
🫣 Are you a people pleaser with co-dependent tendencies?
You’re probably overpaying your team.
= much higher than necessary Payroll / Salary expenses = lower profit margin.
🫣 Are you avoidantly attached?
You probably don’t know how to resolve conflict with your clients, so your client retention or returning client numbers are sh*t.
= much higher Client Acquisition / Marketing expenses = lower profit margin.
I’m not a mental health expert, but I’ve seen these patterns in my community more times than I can count.
Financial advice isn’t rocket science. Most people who say “I can’t pay myself” don’t have a knowledge gap. They have an implementation gap.
And as much as I would love to gate-keep all the stuff I learned in my Bachelors and Masters in Accounting… there’s really no reason.
If you’re having financial issues and you’ve already done the work to learn about margins, budgets, and expense ratios, I need you to take a good, hard look in the mirror.
Because investing in another course isn’t what you need to do.
You already know the numbers.
Now it’s time to look at how your behaviour, operational processes, and overall strategy either support those numbers—or (self) sabotage them.
Because information isn’t what causes transformation.
Implementation is.
And if you’re still putting off being the CEO of your business because you think you need to take “just one more” course first, maybe what you actually need is operational and strategic consulting.
Not fluff. Not mindset hacks.
Just clarity, accountability, and structure that actually moves the needle.
Because let’s be honest:
If you could’ve done this stuff on your own, you would’ve already.
And for the record—I don’t hate all education. I just think it needs to come with real-world implementation baked in. That’s the difference between information and transformation.
