My client brought in nearly $40k of new work in our first few weeks together

Hi friend -

I’m going to tell you a story today about an incredible client of mine who came to me in the midst of some pretty big challenges - troubles making payroll, out-of-alignment clients, and a general feeling of overwhelm from managing her team -  and within a few WEEKS of her joining 7-Fig CEO, I’m excited to share that she’s brought in nearly $40k of NEW client work.

Full disclosure:  Yes, this client has a team who helps her serve her clients.  Yes, this client is super smart.

But don’t @ me and say “well, that explains it” because it doesn’t.  I know lots of biz owners who are smart and have teams of 8-10 people bu,t their revenue per employee is shit and their profit margins are half what they should be.

So, let’s talk about what this client did in her first few weeks with me and my team that set her up for bringing in new work so quickly (hint: some of this is really, really simple but most of us don’t do it…):

  • Got her exec assistant to schedule regular working meetings so the amount of email correspondence and “stuck tasks” decreased; also moved her team meetings to Tuesday mornings instead of Mondays

  • Drafted a really, really clear org chart (aka - who is reporting to whom, what are her directors responsible for on a daily/weekly/monthly basis, etc.)

  • Started the convo around boundaries with clients, team members, and vendors

Because time was at a premium for this client, we aimed for some quick wins first (EA working meetings, rescheduled team meetings.

I know I know - moving the team meeting to Tuesday might seem like such an obvious thing to do but you’d be shocked to know how many business owners don’t do stuff like this.

Instead, they spend their most rested, most focused hours of the week (Monday AM) in meetings listening to their team members’ to-do lists instead of doing some big-picture planning or thinking.

Next, we drafted a really clear, brand new org structure that reflected her two lines of biz.  We do this for most clients and it is helpful to figure out who needs to be hired or moved around, etc.  This client has a really talented team so all that was really needed was clarity around roles and the movement of a few people into management roles so reporting was simplified.  This work will continue over the next number of months.

But what was the hardest thing my client did this month that I truly believe led to her bringing in $40K of new work??  Her and I started a convo around boundaries - with team members, vendors, and clients.

And you might be thinking, how would having MORE boundaries in place create new work?

Let me tell you:  when you raise your standards and choose the aligned versus the easy road, things shift.  Big time.

When you start realizing you don’t want to work with people who lack integrity or don’t treat your team well or grind you on price, the universe takes notice.

So it’s no surprise to me to know that most of the $40k in new work this client has attracted in our first few weeks together is with fantastic clients she can’t wait to start working with.

And I’m humble enough to acknowledge that I didn’t come in, wave my magic wand, and poof - there’s $40k in new work.  No - as I mentioned above, my client is super committed to this entire process, is whip-smart AND has the full support of me and my team.

Now, I can’t guarantee that you’ll make back your entire 7-Fig CEO investment in the first few weeks working with me lol, but I’m pretty sure you’ll find this client's story inspiring, friend.

Here are the main takeaways I hope you get from this email:

  • You get to change when you have meetings in your biz to allow you to LOVE how your week starts.  My client hadn’t thought of moving her team meetings, but she knew she didn’t love having zero thinking time at the start of her week.  If you have team meetings, remember that you can shift things around too.  You’re in charge.

  • It does not take years to change the financial outlook of your biz.  With the right guidance, commitment and support, you can shift your biz toward $75k - $100k months more quickly than you’d otherwise thought.  I’ve seen it before and I can guarantee this client is well on her way there.

  • You get to enforce boundaries with clients, team members, and vendors.  Yes, I know you like it when people like you (me too!!).  But remember, friend, if someone has agreed IN A WRITTEN CONTRACT to provide you with monthly financial statements but hasn't done so in more than six months, you asking for said statements isn't a bitchy move. Instead, it's just you being a $1M biz owner who takes her shit seriously.

The 7-Figure CEO Light program is designed to help people like you hit your big revenue growth goals by working on the operational, financial, and strategic stuff in your biz so that you look forward to weeks where you bring in $40k of new work too.

This program is perfect for entrepreneurs who have celebrated hitting at least $15k/month, but are unsure about the path to 7- or multiple 7-figures in revenue.
