Let's talk about an incredible client of mine who was stuck in a multiple-5-fig-a-month, but soul-sucking corporate job and within 7 months started her own professional services firm, embodied total BDE on social media, and was on track to hit her first $20k revenue month.

Got suuuuuuper fckin clear on her answers to three key questions related to her service offerings
Identified her key task buckets: connecting with others, offerings, finance-y stuff
Made a plan for a workshop that she planned, launched and sold out
Because time was at a premium for this client (she was working 40hrs/wk in a big corp job when we started working together and had a young family), our sessions had to be extremely focused.
But before I could give her any homework, I needed her to zoom out and get clear on what she wanted to do in her biz aka what would be fun.
You might be thinking, how hard can that be??
BELIEVE ME - figuring out what’s “fun” can be tricky for anyone used to the corporate grind where you’re constantly doing what someone else tells you to do when someone else tells you to do it. 🤔
But that’s where I started with this client. I got her to answer three ✨ magical questions ✨:
What does she love to do?
What is she good at?
What is there market demand for?
Next, we got clear on the QUANTITY of hours she could devote to her new biz every week and, more importantly, HOW she should spend those hours.
We started with three “task buckets” - connecting with others, offerings, and finance-y stuff - and used these to organize her calendar and limited side-hustle time.
It’s worth noting that this client was extremely good at just putting her head down and getting sh*t done in a short amount of time (tbh, that’s how I am too so it doesn’t surprise me when a client shows up like this 🤷🏼♀️).
When she told me she wanted to do an online workshop, I knew she was the kind of person that could dream something up, promo it and sell it out in a matter of weeks. And she did. ✅
As I said above, this client continued on with me in the 7-Fig CEO program and saw her first $20k month within 7 months of working together. I can’t guarantee this result for everyone, but don't you love to know what's possible?
Here are the main takeaways I hope you get from this post:
You get to build a life/biz you love AND make serious money. My client no longer felt that her personal values aligned with the ones espoused by her employer. She felt internal turmoil and wanted to make a change to live a life where she made meaningful money - not just easy money.
It does not take years to build a successful, sustainable, bread-winner-type-business. My client is living proof that when you leave a great job in your late-30s, you aren’t starting over - no. You are starting with experience and your biz may ramp up quickly because of this.
Selling can be easy when you find that magical centre of the Venn diagram for your service offerings (What do you love to do? What are you good at? What is there market demand for?). Zooming out can be hard, but my client took the time to get clear on what she really wanted to offer her customers BEFORE haphazardly selling on social media. This is key.
